Here’s another great example of civic action making a difference.  The Mount Pleasant Pride Committee works to purge the East Cooper area of litter by cleaning up intersections, teaching people, and encouraging local businesses to provide outdoor trash receptacles.

PRIDE will be cleaning up the intersection of Long Point Road and I-526 on May 19, from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m.  Volunteers can meet at the Mount Pleasant RL Jones Center, located at 391 Egypt Road, at 7:45 a.m. for orientation.  If you’ve got 3 hours to spare, this is a great chance to get out there for an easy green win.
