Lowcountry Open Land Trust Saves Land for Public Park
Posted by Chad Norman February 14th, 2008 .I gotta give a shout out to the good folks over at the Lowcountry Open Land Trust. They recently purchased a 63-acre tract of land on the Ashley River that was destined for development. As a result, LOLT is making sure that a public park is being built instead.
This is a great example of a local nonprofit working with the SC government, as well as private and public interests, to ensure a greener future for all of us. Over-development is a real concern for Charleston-area conservationists, and this is definitely a move in the right direction.
