One of my favorite local groups, The Alliance for Planet Earth, is organizing a good old-fashioned protest against dirty power plants tomorrow. By partnering with the Energy Action Coalition, they hope to bring together local citizens in an effort to demand Santee Cooper provide cleaner energy. Here’s the details:

Alliance for Planet Earth urges you to join thousands of people this April 1st in a global call for action. Meet in Marion Square at the fountain on the corner of King St. and Calhoun St. from 1-3 p.m. Dress as a clown, and come ready to demonstrate to Santee Cooper and the fossil fuel empire that the era of fossil fuel use has ended. Join us in the demand for clean energy alternatives! Help us end the environmental and social injustices associated with fossil fuels- injustices that jeopardize the health of all beings. Fooling with fossil fuels isn’t very funny!

Head on down tomorrow and get involved!

Hey – good weblog, just wanting around some blogs, seems a reasonably nice platform you are using. I’m at the moment utilizing WordPress for just a few of my sites but trying to change certainly one of them over to a platform much like yours as a trial run. Anything in particular you’d recommend about it?
