Every time I attend an environmentally-focused event, I am reminded that a little awareness can go a long way. That’s how Go Green Night at the Charleston Battery felt: The growing Charleston green community getting great exposure to the growing Charleston soccer community.

With organizations like Green Drinks Charleston bringing its audience to the game, the main plaza was crawling with people interested in the couple dozen vendors with booths. I saw a lot of the nonprofits and businesses we feature here on Go Green, like Coastal Conservation League, Charleston Audubon Society, Charleston Green Initiative, Greater Charleston Green Map, South Carolina Aquarium, The Sustainability Institute, Carolina AlgaeControl, DwellSmart, Evergreen Concepts of Charleston, Natural Awakenings, Global Awakening, The Sprout, Verdi, and many more. We even discovered some new greenies out there, like the folks from Green Man Lawn Care.

Cheers to the Battery for spreading the green word!
