On Friday, September 19th, head on down to the corner of Market and Church streets to participate in Charleston’s National Park(ing) Day 2008 event. Temporary parks will be setup in an effort to celebrate city green spaces and encourage everyone to support the development of new parks. Very cool.
Parks are an integral park of the green scene, as they give city dwellers and suburbanites a chance to appreciate the environment we are all working so hard to preserve. Our Charleston County Parks are impressive, and the Charleston Parks Conservancy has begun its efforts to ensure that our parks have a future – but we can always do more. Park(ing) Day is another great way to get out and show your support for these local gems.
More information on attending and participating can be found on National Park(ing) Day Charleston’s Facebook page. Happy parking everyone!
